During my husband’s life one of his greatest joys was working with young musicians. He was always willing to take time to talk to them, give advice about their careers and often helped them financially. He never ceased to be grateful for the help he received from others during the bleak days before he found work.

My daughters and I established the Solti Foundation in order to continue the work started by their father. Graduating from a Music School is a critical time - financial support comes to an end as well as pastoral care. The Solti Foundation's aim is to give assistance during this transition period. Over the past seventeen years we have helped musicians from over 50 countries. Grant recipients update us on their progress, confirming our belief that assistance at the right time can make a vital difference to the positive development of a new career.

Our goal for the future remains the same - to help young musicians at the start of their professional careers. However, we shall be making a change in our procedures - we will no longer be accepting direct applications from individual musicians, but shall instead be funding Scholarships for participation at international Master Classes. The Solti Foundation will still continue to offer advice, support and guidance to young musicians.
